Is it true that women tend to focus more on relationships, and caring for those who are dependent on them? Ethics of care tends to give a higher value to those who are close to us emotionally and physically and we therefore have a higher duty to care for them. This is contrary to other universalist systems we will learn about which argue that each person in the world should have equal moral worth to us. Can we balance our ethical duty to those who are close to us emotionally or physically, with a duty to treat each person in the world as having equal worth?
